Child Pornography Charges Filed Against Clearwater Man: Sheriff

CLEARWATER, FL — Pinellas County sheriff's detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Clearwater man for possession of child pornography and transmission of child pornography.

On Feb. 15, detectives began an investigation after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that child pornography was being uploaded via the internet in the Clearwater area.

Detectives were able to trace the internet address to 44-year-old Osamah Khalil of Heron Terrace Apartments, who was arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of transmission of child pornography.

When Khalil was interviewed by detectives, he admitted to receiving and transmitting child pornography.
