Clearwater Lawyer Suspended For Three Years

The punishment from the Florida Bar is for failing to do work after getting paid by clients in some instances, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

A Clearwater lawyer has been suspended from practicing law for three years by the state Supreme Court, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Randall Shanafelt's suspension is effective immediately and follows at least eight investigations by the Florida Bar.

"In some instances he accepted fees but subsequently failed to adequately communicate with the clients or do the work," the Times reports. "In other instances, he failed to provide an accounting for money he received for service."
