Clearwater Man Charged With Sexual Battery on Girl, 11

A Clearwater man is facing sexual battery charges after police say he sexually abused an 11-year-old girl sometime in 2010.

Rigoberto A. Angeles, 36, gave a partial confession and was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of capital sexual battery, according to Clearwater Police. 

Authorities say the crimes occurred at a private residence in Clearwater in 2010 and that the girl, who was 11 at the time, was known to Angeles.

The girl recently told her mother, who contacted Clearwater Police. No further information was released to protect the girl's identity.

Angeles also faces a failure to appear charge for an expired driver's license. He was being held at Pinellas County Jail and is awaiting trial.
