Clearwater Police District 3 Operations And Training Center Unveiled
The new center is located at the former Countryside police substation at State Road 580 and McMullen Booth Road.
CLEARWATER, FL — The Clearwater Police Department hosted the ribbon-cutting and grand opening of its new District 3 Emergency Operations and Training Center Monday.
The new center is located at 2851 McMullen-Booth Road, across from Countryside High School. It replaced the former Countryside police substation at State Road 580 and McMullen Booth Road, built in 1983.
The 21,625-square-foot emergency operations center is equipped to withstand a Category 5 hurricane.

Included in the center are police training classrooms, simulation training space, offices, workout space and locker rooms, as well as a 6,100-cubic-foot underground stormwater vault under the parking lot, audiovisual components and video walls, solar panels and the ability to add electrical vehicle charging stations.
The Clearwater City Council approved spending $11.2 million in April 2021 to construct the new operations and training center, which will serve as the city's headquarters during a hurricane or other disaster.

The Clearwater Police Emergency Operations and Training Center was designed by Harvard Jolly Architecture and constructed by Ajax Building Co.
