Clearwater Woman Accused Of Setting House On Fire, 2 Cats Dead
Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 26-year-old woman after investigators determined the fire that destroyed her home was arson.
CLEARWATER, FL — A 26-year-old woman is being sought on arson charges after a fire destroyed a Clearwater house, killing two cats and possibly a dog, which is still missing.
Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel were called to a home at 1340 S Evergreen Ave. just before noon Thursday and said they found the house fully involved. Firefighters said the blaze caused substantial damage to the home. One cat was found dead inside the home and another cat and a dog were reported missing. Firefighters have since found the second cat dead but have not located the dog.
Following an investigation, Clearwater Fire & Rescue and Clearwater police said they have determined that the fire was intentionally set. A warrant for the arrest of Devon Childers, 26, who lived in the home, has been issued.
