DUI Checkpoint Set For Ulmerton Rd. Friday Night

Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies will be on the lookout for drug- and alcohol-impaired drivers.

Law enforcement officials will be setting up a DUI checkpoint Friday night on Ulmerton Road in an effort to keep the roads safe from drunk drivers.

The sobriety checkpoint will be set up at the National Aviation Academy, 6225 Ulmerton Rd., from 10 p.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Saturday, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said in a media release.

The sheriff's office sets up monthly checkpoints at various locations throughout the county. Patrol, community policing, K-9 and narcotics deputies will be on the lookout for for alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers, as well as driver license, registration, insurance, and equipment violations.
