The public can tell Clearwater's Charter Review Committee its thoughts on what type of government the city should have.
Currently the city uses a council-manager form of government. The city manager is the chief administrator, making decisions on hiring and firing staff, preparing the budget and making recommendations to the council in this type of government.
The council-strong mayor form, the mayor is the chief executive, exercising substantial influence on policy making and administration. The mayor would also have veto power.

The committee is also reviewing other sections of the city charter including council member term limits, increasing the time between charter reviews and possible relocation of the Coachman Park Bandshell.
