Electrical Fire Destroys Storage Area at Clearwater Beach Shop
The fire at Flipperz Beach Shop was extinguished Tuesday night before it could spread to any other structures, officials said. A nearby motel was evacuated as a precaution.

An electrical fire destroyed a storage shed at a Clearwater Beach shop and forced the partial evacuation of a nearby motel Tuesday night, authorities said.
Fire units responded to Flipperz Beach Shop, 437 S. Gulfview Blvd., around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday after officers patrolling the area noticed the blaze and called the fire department.
Responders were able to extinguish the fire before it could spread to any other structures, according to public safety spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts. An attached storage area to the rear and side of the business was destroyed.
