Flooding Reported on Courtney Campbell Causeway

The Florida Highway Patrol reported standing water Monday morning in at least one lane of the Courtney Campbell Causeway, on the Clearwater side of the bridge.

The obstruction was reported in the westbound left lane sometime before 6 a.m., as the FHP warned motorists to use caution.

Rain and winds from Tropical Storm Isaac were pelting Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay area. There was a threat of isolated tornadoes and a possible storm surge of 1 to 3 feet above normal in the coastal areas at high tide, National Weather Service forecasters said Monday morning.
