More Guns, Grenade Found in 'Heavily Armed' Suspect's Home
Mark Bill was armed with an AR-15 rifle, Mossberg 500 pistol grip shot gun, a Colt 45 pistol and three knives, according to Clearwater Police.

Police disclosed the weapons carried by a "heavily armed" suspect shot Sunday night by two officers.

Bill is in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center.

According to police, Bill was "heavily armed" and fired at officers who came to his house to check on his welfare. Additional guns and ammunition were found inside of his home as well as a grenade. The Tampa Bay Bomb Squad responded early Monday morning and determined it was non-explosive.
Bill has a criminal history with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and the Pennsylvania State Police, where he was charged with misdemeanor voluntary manslaughter in 1983, according to investigators. He previously served in the Army and is experienced with weapons.

According to the preliminary investigation, officers Kris Wise and Michael Beaver believed Bill fired at them and fearing for their safety, they shot back. Police are conducting forensic testing to confirm Bill fired the weapon.
