Homeless Woman Fell From Balcony While Dancing, Police Say

Antoinette DeJesus fell from a ninth-story balcony at the Regatta Beach Club on Mandalay during a party around 3:45 a.m. Sept. 8, according to Clearwater Police.

A woman was dancing on a ninth-story balcony before going over the ledge and acccidently falling to her death during a party on her birthday Sept. 8, according to a preliminary investigation by Clearwater Police.

Alcohol may have been a factor in Antoinette DeJesus' fall from unit 904 at the Regatta Beach Club, 880 Mandalay Ave., during a party around 3:45 a.m. Sept. 8, according to Clearwater Police. DeJesus' birthday was Sept. 7.

"At this time, it appears to be an unintended and accidental fall," Elizabeth Watts, Clearwater Police spokeswoman, said in a release. "We are waiting on toxicology results, which will take a couple of weeks."

There is no indication the incident is a suicide, Watts said.
