Hours Could Change at Parks
City leaders looks to change the hours to sunrise to sunset at many parks including Turner and Magnolia Street Docks, Prospect Lake Park, Sand Key Bayside Park and Edgewater Drive Park.

City leaders look to tighten hours at Turner and Magnolia Street Docks, Prospect Lake Park, Edgewater Drive Park and many other city parks as a way to help law enforcement patrol those areas.
The changes affect many parks that were closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Many of these will now be open sunrise to sunset, said Kevin Dunbar, director of the city's Parks and Recreation department during the City Council work session meeting Monday.
“We’re making some adjustments,” Dunbar said.

Making the changes makes it easier for Clearwater Police to enforce the rules and regulations at the parks, Dunbar said.
The ordinance changes also changed the reference of Clearwater Executive Golf Course to its current name the Landings and changed references to the City Commission to City Council.
