Largo Woman Accused Of Selling Clearwater Mobile Home She Didn't Own

Clearwater detectives have arrested a woman they say duped a man out of thousands of dollars over the sale of a mobile home.

CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater police economic crimes detectives have arrested a woman they say duped a man out of thousands of dollars over the fraudulent sale of a mobile home.

Olga Botello, also known as Olga Griffin, 75, of Largo, was arrested Wednesday and charged with scheming to defraud.

According to detectives, Botello falsely said she has permission from the owner of a mobile home at 2381 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. to sell the property. Between November and February, detectives said she drafted an agreement for the sale and purchase of the mobile home and accepted a $7,500 payment from the victim.

The regional manager of the trailer park confirmed that Botello has no legal authority to handle the transaction.

Detectives believe there could be additional victims. Those who think they may have had fraudulent dealings with Botello should call Clearwater police at 727-562-4242.
