Man Arrested for Sexual Battery on Infant

A Clearwater man has been accused of committing sexual battery on a 2-year-old girl, according to the Clearwater Police Department.

On Wednesday night, Stephen Pierce, 53, went into the girl’s room in the apartment she lived in as she slept and committed the act, according to police.

Pierce was supposed to babysit the girl while her mother went out, according to police.

The mother walked into the girl’s room while Pierce committed the act and called the authorities.

Pierce lives at the apartment, according to police.

Clearwater officers arrested Pierce and charged him with sexual battery on a person under 12. He was booked into jail after midnight Thursday morning.
