Man Guns Down Neighbor in Front of Wife, Deputies Say

A man reportedly entered his neighbor's home and shot him to death in front of his wife at Riviera Mobile Home Park in Clearwater on July 4.

A Clearwater man was killed at a mobile home park off of U.S. 19 on Wednesday, July 4.

Keith Lewandowski, 46, was gunned down in front of his wife around 12:30 p.m. at Riviera Mobile Home Park, authorities report. No other injuries are reported.

The suspect Bruce Kenneth Schunk, 65, is charged with his murder.

Authorities said that Schunk entered Lewandowski's home uninvited and "made several comments" to the victim and his wife. Schunk pointed a "large caliber handgun" at Lewandowski's wife, and according to deputies, Lewandowski stepped in front of her. Schunk shot him once in the head and returned to his mobile home. 

Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies said that Schunk has a history of confrontations with Lewandowski and other neighbors, but that no incidents happened between the men Wednesday before Schunk entered Lewandowski's mobile home.

Schunk was apprehended without incident, but is declining to speak with authorities. The shooting weapon was recovered, according to deputies. 

Schunk was booked at Pinellas County Jail on one felony count of first degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
