Mother Charged With Murder In Infant's Death: Pinellas Sheriff

A woman was charged with murder in the death of her 3-month-old daughter, who had multiple brain bleeds and a skull fracture, PCSO said.

OLDSMAR, FL — A woman was charged with first-degree murder in the December death of her 3-month-old daughter, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive infant at an apartment in Oldsmar on Dec. 13.

Paramedics also responded to the home and brought the child to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later

Detectives learned the child suffered from multiple brain bleeds and a large skull fracture, the sheriff’s office said.

The Medical Examiner ruled the baby’s cause of death to be blunt head trauma.

Investigators learned the child was in the care of her mother, 26-year-old Tess Britt, on the day the injuries occurred.

Britt was arrested Thursday and booked into Pinellas County Jail.
