New Salon Is On The Cutting Edge of The Styling Industry

Massage chairs, iPads, custom coloring and complimentary cocktails help set Salon Absolute apart from traditional salons.

Ever come home from a trip to the salon and have a hard time checking out your new ‘do in the mirror because a.) You know it wasn’t the look you were shooting for or b.) Your neck hurts from sitting in the shampoo chair?

Well, we’re happy to report there is a new salon in Clearwater that will help eliminate those pesky problems, all but guaranteeing your quest for a new look will be a positive - not a painful - experience.

Salon Absolute, which opened in November, is a modern styling shop where the interior is chic, the customer service is exceptional, and the entire process of changing or maintaining your look is enjoyable and refreshing.

“I wanted to have a place where people could say, “Wow, this is great. I’ve never had something like this before”,” owner Angelina Koehler said.

Indeed you notice the uniqueness of the shop before a stylist ever puts scissors to hair by taking advantage of the free consultation.

After making an appointment – online, if you prefer - not only will Koehler discuss the style, color and cost of the work you want done, but she will match you up with a stylist that fits your personality as well.

“We’re one big family here. There’s no competition. We want you to be comfortable with the stylist who is going to be responsible for your look,” she said.

New looks can be achieved by perusing snapshots on an iPad before heading over the color bar to choose which tint is just right for you.

“With the color bar, we eliminated the ‘color from a box’ approach. Thanks to these Paul Mitchell products, we can customize and formulate a specific color for each customer.”

To make the experience even more satisfying, Salon Absolute boasts some truly unique Shiatsu massage shampoo chairs that move in a number of directions as well as vibrate to make traditional hair-washing stations seem as outdated as barber poles.

Oh, did we mention you could sip some wine, beer or freshly ground coffee while you are waiting for one of the processes to be completed?

Koehler, a 25-year-old veteran stylist, strongly considered what worked and what didn’t in other salons when she constructed her first shop, and she sums her new place up perfectly.

“Coming to Salon Absolute is a unique experience. It’s not just a haircut.”
