
An off duty lifeguard rescued a man from the water at Clearwater Beach on Saturday evening, authorities report.
A 47-year-old man was swimming just north of around 6 p.m. when a strong current swept him past the swimming area, Clearwater Fire and Rescue officials report.
An off duty Clearwater Beach lifeguard reportedly saw the distressed man and swam about 50 yards to him. The lifeguard brought the man safely back to shore, rescuers report. The man was reportedly alert and taken to , rescuers report.
