Pelican Snagged By Fishing Hook And Line Freed by Clearwater Rescuers

CLEARWATER, FL — A pelican found tangled in a fishing line Thursday is recovering with the help of Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department lifeguards, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers and Clearwater police.

The pelican was found tangled in the fishing line on the south part of Clearwater Beach with a fishing hook snagged in its body. Together, rescuers worked to free the pelican and send it on its way.
