Persistent Burglar Caught On Video

Police need help identifying a man accused of breaking into a Clearwater laundromat.

CLEARWATER, FL — The Clearwater Police Department is asking for help identifying a man wanted in connection with a recent burglary at a laundromat. The man in question, police say, was rather persistent in his attempts to gain access to the manager’s office.

The crime in question occurred back on Feb. 17 when a man went inside the 24 Hour Laundromat at 1232 S. Highland Ave. Flying solo, the burglar is seen on surveillance video attempting to open the manager’s office with a crowbar.

That attempt didn’t quite work out, police noted in an email to media.

Police say the man, however, returned to the same business a short while later with another person along to help. In the second attempt, both men had their faces covered. They also did manage to get inside the office, the email noted.

The first suspect, who went sans mask on the crowbar attempt, is described as standing about 5-foot-10. He has a thin build, brown hair and worse a baseball cap with a large letter “T” printed on its front. A description of the second suspect is not available.
