Police: Maintenance Man Caught on Video Burglarizing Condo

Clearwater Police charged Kevin R. Reed with burglary after they say he entered a Sand Key condominium with a master key and stole money from the unit.

A maintenance man was arrested Wednesday after police say he was caught on video burglarizing a Sand Key condominium.

Kevin R. Reed, 44, of Oldsmar, was charged with burglary after Clearwater Police allege he entered a residence at around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday by using a master key and stole money from the unit.

The theft was captured on a home security video system, officials said, and the victims contacted police.

Reed may be involved in other burglaries, public safety spokesperson Elizabeth Watts said, and additional charges are pending.

He was released Thursday morning after posting $10,000 bond.

The security video is considered evidence and will not be released, Watts said.
