SHS Hosts Third Annual Broadway Dinner Theatre

From Sarasota HS: Sarasota High School students will stage their third annual Broadway Dinner Theater at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18 at Church in Motion. The event is a night of entertainment by SHS theater students, with dinner catered by Madfish Grill.

Students will perform acts from a wide range of Broadway musicals that span from “Oklahoma” to “Waitress.” The young actors use this performance as an opportunity to explore audience favorites as well as other shows that are less well-known, in an effort to share the fun and excitement of Broadway musicals.

“Dinner theater has always been one of my favorite events,” said Anna Massey, a senior who is president of SHS Theatre and co-director of the production. “It allows us the opportunity to select and perform pieces we would likely never have the chance to do in a full production of the play at school. It also allows students who can’t dedicate their time to a complete show the opportunity to perform for family and friends, and we always come away with great memories!”

Tickets for Broadway Dinner Theater are $15 and are available in advance through Wednesday, Feb. 15. Tickets are available for $20 at the door, but are often sold out before the night of the event due to limited seating. For information and to purchase tickets, email shs.broadway.dinner@gmail.com.
