Stolen Lunch Money Inspires Cops’ Act Of Kindness

As Clearwater Police hunt for a teen who took a 10-year-old's lunch money, they took time out to deliver a meal to the victim.

CLEARWATER, FL — News that a 10-year-old boy was robbed of his lunch money while walking to school on Monday didn’t sit right with Clearwater Police. While the hunt remains active for the teen accused in the case, four officers took a trip to Skycrest Elementary School on Tuesday to treat the victim to lunch.

“Nobody takes a kid’s lunch money,” said Cpl. Chris Ziermann. “We wanted to make this right.”

Ziermann and three other officers joined forces to pay the boy a visit at the 10 N. Corna Ave. school. They showed up promptly at the boy’s lunchtime with a sandwich, chips and a Clearwater Police Department patch in hand.

“The suspect came up from behind and snatched the money out of his hands,” the email said.
