Teen Sexually Assaulted as She Walked to Bus Stop

The 17-year-old was grabbed from behind and dragged out of public view.

A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted Tuesday as she walked to her bus stop in unincorporated Clearwater, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

The teenager was grabbed from behind and dragged out of public view, according to detectives. The suspect then sexually assaulted her.

After the attack, the girl was able to make it back home and told her family what had happened. The incident was reported to the Sheriff's Office.

Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit are investigating the  incident.

The suspect is described as a 25- to 30-year-old black man who is medium build and wearing a black sweatshirt.
