Teen Threatened To Kill County Commissioner: Pinellas Sheriff
A 17-year-old boy was arrested for making a written threat to kill Pinellas County Commissioner Chris Latvala, the sheriff's office said.
CLEARWATER, FL — A 17-year-old boy was arrested Saturday for threatening to kill Pinellas County Commissioner Chris Latvala, authorities said.
Though the teen was named by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, it’s Patch policy not to name a juvenile accused of a crime who is charged as a minor. It’s unknown whether the suspect was charged as a juvenile or an adult.
The teen commented on a post on X, formerly Twitter, about the new Tampa Bay Rays stadium, the sheriff’s office said.

The teen turned himself in to detectives at the Pinellas County Juvenile Assessment Center and was charged with one count of written threats to kill.
