Three People Displaced After Morning Blaze

Clearwater firefighters believe the house fire may have started in the bedroom at 911 Engman St.

Three people are uninjured, but displaced, after a Saturday morning blaze in north Clearwater, fire officials report.

The single-family home on Engman Street was found fully engulfed when Clearwater firefighters arrived shortly after 7:21 a.m.

Fire officials believe the blaze started in the bedroom and are focusing the investigation on a heater, but a final determination has not been made.

County records show the home belongs to Kathleen Smith and Willie Mae Merthie.

The American Red Cross is available if needed, officials say.
