Tropical Storm Isaac Brings Surfers to Sand Key Park

Colleary said they came out because they love the water. They also are all members of the Tampa Bay Ski Team which performs in Oldsmar, he said.

They planned to be out for a few hours.

They recommended checking the surf report and taking to the water with others for safety.

Though the friends did not expect to catch big waves — only one to two feet were expected — they were happy to be off school Monday.

And planned to try for bigger waves with the time off.
