Two Teens Injured in Stolen Car Crash
Clearwater Police are investigating an early morning crash involving a car that was stolen Wednesday night.
Two teen passengers were seriously injured when the stolen vehicle they were in crashed into a concrete pole near the intersection of Douglas and Overbrook avenues early Thursday morning, Clearwater Police said.
Joshua Davis, 17, was in the front seat and Teron Dudley, 14, was in the back of a 2012 Toyota being driven at a high rate of speed south on Douglas Avenue, according to investigators.
The driver tried to turn left onto Overbrook Avenue but lost control, crashing into a concrete utility pole around 3:45 a.m., officials said.

When units arrived, they found Davis with serious injuries and Dudley with life-threatening ones. Both teens were taken to local hospitals. Dudley is currently listed in critical condition.
The driver fled before police arrived on scene.

The vehicle was stolen from the 1700 block of Sunset Drive on Wednesday, Oct. 31, police said. Damage to the pole, including removing and replacing it, is estimated at $20,000.
