Hurricane Irma: Duval Public Schools Will Be Closed Tuesday

Duval County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 12, the school system said.

"With deep consideration for the safety of our students and community and the time needed to recover from Hurricane Irma, Duval County Public Schools has decided to close schools on Tuesday, September 12," a statement from the school system said.

As Irma makes its way up from the Florida Keys, authorities in the Jacksonville area expect widespread flooding and tornado warnings.
