• Jacksonville shooting at Tipsy's Bar and Grill raises concerns for nearby businesses (actionnewsjax.com) — A shooting inside Tipsy’s Bar and Grill in Jacksonville early Sunday left three people injured and a young man in custody, intensifying worries for nearby businesses. The owner of a shop across the street says repeated late-night violence and disorder have forced him to close earlier and call for stronger safety measures from both police and bar owners.
   

• French bulldog rescued from River Island by JSO officers (actionnewsjax.com) — JSO officers and two local fishermen pulled off a heartwarming rescue after finding a French bulldog stranded on a small island in Jacksonville’s Ribault River. Now named Porky, the pup was taken to Animal Care & Protective Services, checked out healthy, and has already been placed with a new adoptive family.
   

• Bowl roundup: BYU holds off Georgia Tech in Pop-Tarts Bowl (theolympian.com) — College football fans should know the Gator Bowl at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville ended with Virginia edging Missouri 13-7 after a last-second defensive stop in the end zone. The game was part of a broader slate of bowl action nationwide, including BYU’s Pop-Tarts Bowl win and several other postseason matchups that closed out the season.
