Jacksonville, Fla., Resident Evelyn Walker Celebrates 100th Birthday
Milestone Follows Husband's 101st and the Couple's Platinum Anniversary

Jacksonville native Evelyn Walker – on the heels of celebrating husband Emmett’s 101st birthday – has a triple-digit milestone all her own; she turned 100 this month. The centenarians, who also just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, share a room at Riverside Post Acute.
“Evelyn and Emmett are a pure delight,” said Riverside’s Pam Montemurno, regional director of market development. “It has been our honor to host their milestone birthday festivities and celebrate with their family.”
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Walker has lived in the city her entire life – that’s 100 years! She worked in insurance before the couple opened Walkers Grocery Store. The pair remain active members of Bethel Baptist Church.
