JEA Rebate Rewards Electric Vehicle Owners Who Charge Overnight
Starting Oct. 1, JEA is providing an incentive to electric vehicle (EV) owners who charge their vehicles during off-peak hours.

JEA is launching a new program to support Jacksonville residents who opt to drive electric vehicles. Starting Oct. 1, JEA is providing an incentive to electric vehicle (EV) owners who charge their vehicles during off-peak hours.
The incentive offers JEA customers a rebate that roughly equates to the electricity needed to drive up to 2,000 miles per year. The EV Charging Rebate is available to any JEA customer and electric vehicle owner who charges their vehicle at home using a Level 2 charger. The customer must register for the program and limit their charging to weeknights or weekends. There are no special devices to buy and no specific type of charger to install.
Peak hours (the hours to avoid) are weekdays from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. All other times are considered off-peak under the JEA Drive Electric Program.

The rebate program is part of JEA’s “concierge-like” service -- provided through JEADriveElectric.com -- for those who want to learn more about electric vehicles in Northeast Florida. On the website, customers are encouraged to learn about electric vehicles and to schedule a call with one of JEA’s electric vehicle experts.
Customers also can learn about deals on electric vehicles from Jacksonville auto dealers. JEA is not facilitating purchases but helping connect shoppers to dealers.
