• See FDOT's preferred route for a new road crossing I-4 in North Lakeland (theledger.com) — A new road linking Walt Williams Road and SR 33 over I-4 in North Lakeland is moving forward, with city commissioners set to vote Monday on a resolution backing FDOT’s preferred route. The project would add a two-lane road and multi-use path near Bridgewater and Wendell Watson Elementary, while banning trucks and launching the next round of state and federal funding requests.
   

• Adelaida Feliciano (villages-news.com) — Family and friends in Lakeland are mourning Adelaida Feliciano, 67, whose two sons and their families live here while she resided in Sumterville. Remembered as loving, straightforward, and creative, she enjoyed crafts, puzzles, and crime shows, and will be honored at a January 9 service in Sumterville.

  • I would just like to remind everyone that uses East Lake Parker Drive as a cut through that the speed limit is 40 mph.
