Land O' Lakes High Student Aces ACT, Plans Career in Medicine

The senior was one of two LOLHS IB students to earn a top score on the exam, something only one-tenth of one percent of test-takers nationwide achieve.

Iyer, an International Baccalaureate student who took the test during his junior year, said he didn’t put much time into specifically preparing for the ACT, only taking two practice tests.

β€œI had been preoccupied with school exams, but I had spent a lot of time preparing for the SAT earlier this year, which was beneficial,” Iyer said.

Iyer has not decided which universities he will apply to yetβ€”β€œI have a list of about 10 schools that I will be narrowing down in the next few weeks,” he said.

No matter where he ends up, he knows just want he wants to do once he gets there.

β€œI want to study medicine and become a doctor,” Iyer said.
