Passenger Killed In Speeding Car Torn In Half By Crash Into Block Wall

A 30-year-old passenger from Apalachicola died following a crash on Starkey Road approaching Bardmoore Place in which a car was cut in half.

LARGO, FL — A 30-year-old passenger from Apalachicola died following a crash on Starkey Road approaching Bardmoore Place in which a car hit a brick wall at a high speed and tore in half.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 9:49 on Tuesday, a 26-year-old Largo man was driving a car at a high rate of speed north on Starkey road, approaching Bardmoore Place, when he lost control.

The car left the road and struck a guide wire for a utility pole before colliding with a block wall and separating into two parts.

The rear half of the car continued northwest, colliding with a tree and two wood fences before coming stopping in the backyard of a home at 10422 Longwood Drive.

Both occupants were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The passenger later died from his injuries.
