Fallen Law Enforcement Honored During Pinellas Sheriff's 33rd Tribute
Sheriff's deputies and police officers were on hand for a ceremony last week to honor fallen deputies during National Police Week.
PINELLAS COUNTY — On Wednesday, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office hosted the 33rd Annual Pinellas County Fallen Law Enforcement Memorial.
Attendees included sheriff's office command staff, executives, Pinellas County law enforcement agencies and elected officials. The event was held at the Sheriff's Administration Building in Largo.
The event featured a roll call of the 27 law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty in Pinellas County since 1905, a wreath-laying at the memorial stone, bagpipes, Taps, a 21-gun salute and a flyover.

Residents were encouraged to join in the efforts to pay tribute to law enforcement on Thursday observing "Paint the Town Blue" in support of law enforcement for National Police Week.
The FBI Tampa Citizens Academy Alumni Association celebrates the "Paint the Town Blue" event May 11 to 16. To help honor local law enforcement, residents are encouraged to wear blue and turn on blue lights.
