Fire 'Destroys' Mobile Home on Belcher Road South

Five people and a dog were sent for medical treatment after a fire at Westgate Mobile Homes on Tuesday morning, according to the Largo Fire Department.

The Largo Fire Department responded to a blaze on July 3 around 10 a.m. on Belcher Road South.  The mobile home was a complete loss, said Shelby Willis, Chief of Professional Standards for the Largo Fire Department.

One man, two women, two children and a dog suffered from smoke inhalation because of the fire, Willis said.

The adult male was the most seriously injured and fire crews treated him with a cyanide antidote at the scene before transporting him to the Largo Medical Center, Willis said.
