Kitten Rescued From Storm Drain by Largo Firefighters

Largo Fire Rescue responded to a report of a cat stuck in a storm drain. 'You really DO save kitty cats!' one Largo resident said later on Facebook.

The firefighters at Largo Fire Rescue are skilled at rushing into dangerous situations to put out fires and save lives.

A storm drain is not exactly a risk for the men who responded to a call about a cat that was trapped in one on Tuesday. But it was for the tiny thing that was pulled out.

Just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, T42 responded to a report of a cat in a storm drain.

Here's the report that was released to the media:

"T42 was able to locate the kitten, remove a grate and make the rescue. The crew also went into the the adjacent manhole to check and see if there were any additional kittens. Luckily there was only the one cat. The kitten was in good condition and was immediately given a home! Good job Lt. Cargill, FF Giordano, and FF Martins!"
