• He's not longer 'Big Nasty,' but Bucs superfan is still a huge part of team history (wusf.org) — A longtime Largo resident is at the heart of this look back at “Big Nasty,” the Tampa Bay Buccaneers superfan who spent 35 years in full face paint and horns before retiring the persona in 2022. Keith Kunzig now cheers from home, but his community work, anti-drug school visits, and national fan honors still tie Largo closely to Bucs history.

• Police make arrests after sick dogs were abandoned in park (mysuncoast.com) — Largo police have arrested two people accused of abandoning 11 dogs, including nine puppies, at Taylor Park, where veterinarians later found the animals were sick with parvovirus. Investigators say the pair had been illegally breeding the dogs and knew some puppies had already died, and both now face multiple felony animal-cruelty charges.
