Woman Struck, Killed Crossing Ulmerton Road in Largo

No charges have been filed against the driver who investigators say hit the 66-year-old Tampa woman, who has not yet been identified.

A woman has died after she was struck by a car while crossing Ulmerton Road in Largo, investigators said Tuesday.

The 66-year-old Tampa woman, who has not been identified, was attempting to cross Ulmerton at the intersection of 49th Street around 9:44 p.m. Monday when she was hit by a 1988 Ford Mustang headed east, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The woman was east of the crosswalk when she was hit, investigators said.

She was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where she died from her injuries the next morning, according to the highway patrol.

The driver of the Mustang, 32-year-old Nicholas Phillip Christini of Tampa, has not been charged at this time.
