Lutz Woman, 55, Reported Missing, Endangered

Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies are asking for help finding a woman reported missing from Lutz.

LUTZ, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office needs help finding a Lutz women who hasn’t been seen since Saturday.

According to the agency, Melanie Lynn Cardona left her East 151st Avenue home on foot sometime between 1:30 and 9 a.m. May 20 and has not been seen or heard from since.

“Melanie left all personal items at her residence and only took with her a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver,” a Tuesday morning email from the sheriff’s office said. “She has a concealed weapons permit, which she left at her residence.”

Cardona has never gone missing before, the sheriff’s office noted.

Cardona is described as having blonde hair and light blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a burgundy Florida State University shirt, beige/khaki shorts, dark sneakers and dark prescription sunglasses.
