Motorcycle Crash Kills 24-year-old Hudson Woman
The woman died Saturday night after being thrown from a motorcycle on U.S. 19.

HUDSON, FL - A 24-year-old Hudson woman died Saturday night after being thrown from a motorcycle on U.S. 19 after the 2003 Kawasaki crashed into the rear of a Ford F-150, troopers said. The woman was identified as Monika Elizabeth Wicks of Hudson. She died at the accident scene.
Wicks, who was not wearing a helmet, was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by Patrick McKinney, 29, of Hudson. McKinney is in critical condition at a local hospital.
The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed in the inside lane south of New York Avenue when it collided with the truck about 8:15 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Both McKinney and Wicks were ejected upon impact, FHP said. The Ford F-150 was driven by Teresa N. Barthle, 50, of Hudson. She was not injured in the crash.
