Lutz Folks Kick Off Holiday Season at 'Sunday in the Park'
Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted children at the annual event, which included vendors from Lutz, Wesley Chapel and beyond.
Woodmont Park popped with red poinsettias during the Temple Terrace Garden Club's Sunday in the Park.
The eighth annual event found the park decorated with gingerbread figures, wrapped presents, and tinseled Christmas trees.
There were vendors selling plants, carpets and soaps, as well as civic groups handing out their brochures and swag. Vendors came from all over, including Lutz and Wesley Chapel.

Jan Sutton of Temple Terrace sold toys to raise money for Joshua House in Lutz.
The highlight of the event each year is the arrival of Santa Claus on a Temple Terrace fire truck. He and Mrs. Claus greeted children, who told St. Nick what they wanted for Christmas.

Stacey Lowery of Canoe Escape in Thonotosassa has been a vendor at the event for three years.
"When I come to Sunday in the Park, that's the start of the holidays for me," she said.
