1 Person Airlifted, 2 Others Injured In Rollover Crash

MIAMI, FL — One person was airlifted to a trauma center on Sunday afternoon and two others were taken to the hospital following a rollover crash.

A spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the crash occurred at 1:20 p.m. along 22 Avenue and State Road 9.

"The first arriving unit determined one patient was trapped in one of the vehicles," the spokesperson said. "Crews assessed two other patients from the other vehicle involved in the accident. Crews worked diligently to extricate the patient that was severely entrapped in one of the vehicles."

First responders used several hydraulic tools and techniques, according to the spokesperson.

"The patient was safely removed from the vehicle and was airlifted to the trauma center," the spokesperson added.

Traffic was shut down for a time as a result of the crash.
