London traveler's 65-pound marijuana haul at Miami airport leads to arrest, cops say (miamiherald.com) — Customs officers at Miami International Airport say they found about 65 pounds of marijuana in a London-bound traveler’s luggage during a routine inspection. The 22-year-old woman was arrested on a drug trafficking charge after officers discovered dozens of bundles of marijuana and cash. She has since been released from jail while the case proceeds.

Meet Draco: Miami-Dade shelter dog hopes for a Christmas miracle and forever home (cbsnews.com) — A long-term resident at Miami-Dade Animal Services, five-year-old Draco, is spending his third Christmas in the shelter despite being fully trained and rehabilitated. Man arrested after smashing deli window, trying to pry open register in Miami Beach (wsvn.com) — A man was arrested after allegedly smashing a window and breaking into a deli on West 41st Street in Miami Beach, where police say he tried to pry open the cash register. Surveillance video shows officers confronting him inside before taking him into custody. The deli remains open with its damaged window boarded up while the suspect faces multiple charges.

Trump administration tightens rules for VAWA immigration petitions, raising fears for survivors (cbsnews.com) — A Miami-based domestic violence survivor and South Florida immigration attorney warn that new federal rules for Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions could make it much harder for immigrants to prove abuse.
