Three Miami-Dade police officers were injured during a gun battle at a Southwest Miami-Dade home.

MIAMI, FL — Three Miami-Dade police officers were injured Tuesday night when they got into a gun battle with a 32-year-old man at his Southwest Miami-Dade home, according to police.
Miami-Dade police did not immediately identify the injured officers. The suspect who allegedly confronted them was identified as Aramis Khosravi. The incident happened around 9:36 p.m. in the 8000 block of SW 89 Terrace.
"The brave officers responded to calls of gunfire and were ambushed as they approached a home," explained Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez. "After an exchange of gunfire and negotiations, perp was taken into custody."

Detective Argemis Colome of the agency said the injured officers were responding to several 9-1-1 calls from people who reported shots being fired around the home by an unknown man.
"When officers arrived at the residence, they discovered several shell casings in the backyard," Colome said. "As they made entry through a rear door of the residence, they were confronted by an armed subject, and an exchange of gunfire ensued."
At one point police retreated from the home and formed a perimeter around the property.
"The defendant responded towards the front of the residence and fired multiple rounds through the windows and the front door in the direction of 10 officers who were located at the front of the residence," court documents said.
Colome said Khosravi was barricaded inside the home. Court documents said he surrendered to officers on the scene after placing a call to the police dispatcher.
"The defendant then called 9-1-1 and admitted on the recorded line that he shot at the police officers because they shot at him," court documents explained. "He then demanded to speak to an officer on the scene. The telephone call was connected to a supervisor on the scene, who was able to deescalate the situation and persuaded the defendant to surrender without further incident."
The injured officers were treated at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel. Court documents said the officers were injured by debris, including one officer who suffered an ankle injury from shrapnel.
Colome said Khosravi was not injured. Court documents said the shell casing found around the property came from a high-powered rifle.
