3 People Injured By Gunfire In Southwest Miami-Dade

Gunmen riding on at least one all-terrain vehicle opened fire on a car in southwest Miami-Dade, wounding two men inside the car.

MIAMI, FL — Gunmen riding on at least one all-terrain vehicle opened fire on a car Tuesday night in southwest Miami-Dade, wounding two men inside the car and a nearby bystander.

Det. Alvaro Zabaleta of the Miami-Dade Police Department said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. along SW 191 Avenue.

"One to two, and possible three, all-terrain vehicles approached that car, opened fire," he told reporters.

A 42-year-old woman who was injured was simply standing outside her home at the time, the woman's wife told WPLG-TV.

"An adult male and female were grazed in the head, and transported to a local hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue," Zabaleta said. "The second male was struck in the head, and also transported to Jackson South Trauma Center in critical condition."
