4 Swimming Advisories Lifted In Miami-Dade

Swimming advisories have been lifted at four Miami-Dade Beaches, including one for dogs.

MIAMI BEACH, FL — The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County said late Tuesday afternoon that is is lifting swimming advisories for three beaches. The action covers Crandon North, Crandon South in Key Biscayne and Golden Beach. Officials also lifted a fourth advisory that covered Dog Beach between 80 and 81 Street in Miami Beach.

"Based on a satisfactory microbial water quality test result, the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County is lifting the swimming advisory that was issued on July 18, 2018 for the beach site at Crandon Beach North, Crandon Beach South and Golden Beach," according to health officials. "

Health officials said that the advisory was issued after two consecutive water samples exceeded the federal and state recommended standard for enterococci, which is greater than 70 colony forming units of enterococci per 100 ml in a single sample.
