5 Injured As Gunfire Erupts In Overtown
Five people were injured Saturday night when gunfire erupted in the Overtown section of the city.

MIAMI, FL — Five men were injured Saturday night when gunfire erupted in the Overtown section of the city. One of the shooting victims remained in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital Sunday and the other four victims were expected to recover from their injuries.
Miami police said the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of NW 5 Avenue and 8 Street.
"At approximately 9:30 p.m. we received an alert from #ShotSpotter that numerous shots were fired at the intersection of N.W. 5 Avenue and 8 Street," according to Miami police.

Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department said Sunday that police were still trying to find the person or persons who opened fire on a group of people.
"Five adult males were struck by the bullets," he said. "Four were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center via Miami Fire Rescue while another was taken by another person."
