Arrest Made In Upscale Miami Condo Murder
John Stanton was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old Marley Jackson at the Blue Condominium.

MIAMI, FL — A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with last Friday's early-morning murder inside an upscale high-rise condominium building. John Stanton was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old Marley Jackson. The incident occurred at the Blue Condominium, which is located at 601 NE 36 Street.
"A witness stated they heard a brief struggle followed by a gunshot coming from the victim's apartment," according to court documents.
When Miami police arrived at Jackson's apartment they found the door ajar and Jackson suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The incident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Friday.
Jackson was pronounced dead on the scene by Miami FIre Rescue personnel.

Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department previously said that Miami police took up positions around the condominium building following the shooting to make sure that the shooter was not still inside the 35-story glass structure.
The building overlooks Biscayne Bay and the Miami Design District.
Jackson did not provide a statement to police at the time of his arrest, acccording to court documents.
